By bringing you produce straight from our farm ‘around the corner’, it means we can bring you fresher and more affordable produce that hasn't travelled the length of the country and will last longer.
To complement the 40 to 50 annual crops we grow locally, we also bring you a large collection of other produce and grocery items such as meat, alcohol and dry goods – perfectly adding to our extensive range of fresh, mouthwatering produce.

Connings Food Market is a family-owned and -operated business that not only sells you the freshest produce but grows it – and to the highest of standards.
We grow it – seed and all
The Connings family has been growing delicious kai for decades.
Connings Market Garden have always embraced seasonality and lean on the support of mother nature to grow, from seed, between 40 to 50 crops of produce all year round. From cauliflower, broccoli and cabbages in the winter, to strawberries, watermelon and corn in the summer, we make sure we have a farm filled with produce you will love.
All Conning’s produce meets the strictest health and safety standards. Our produce is grown in line with the GAP (Good Agricultural Practice) standards.
We harvest it
We grow a lot of fresh kai to meet the needs of hungry locals just like you.
The beauty of produce grown here in the Tasman region at Connings Market Garden is that, after being harvested, it doesn’t have to travel far to get to you – meaning fresher and more affordable produce all year around.

We sell it
Our produce, after making the short trip to one of the Connings Food Markets, is ready for you to add to your shopping basket at either our Nelson or Appleby locations.
